Merana's Scout Site specializing in Girl Scout and International Uniforms.

This is my daughter, a Gold Award earner,
in her grandmother's Intermediate uniform.

A lot of people ask me my currant Scouting position...you're looking at it! I maintain this site, try and provide information, answers, and links to other Scout site. Occasionally, troops visit me, or I take some of my collection out to Scouting events to display. During February of 2006 and 2007, the bulk of my international items were on display at FHQ.

We 'commute' between Savannah and our home in FL, and I volunteer at First Headquarters in the council archives and museum.
I also do some fundraising through my autographs. The fee I charge goes directly to the local area. While in Savannah, I have raised approx. $400+ signing posters at FHQ. Stop in and say hi, if you are up there!

My son, an Eagle; with his cousin,
a Bobcat (he's modeling the uniform
and wearing a Canadian beret).

While volunteering at FHQ, I often tried to get visiting girls to realize Juliette Low actually used to walk in this building and meet troops here. As a personal challenge in 2006, I decided to attempt sculpting a mixed media image of Juliette. The final project is composed of a variety of media, and curently, a vintage khaki adult uniform skirt, and 3-star pin. 'She' is a painting as well, as all skin surfaces are done with acrylic paint.
Since then, 'Juliette' has not only appeared at FHQ, but has taken 2 road trips to North Carolina and 2 to Valley Forge, PA. 'She' also attended a service unit board meeting
here in Vero Beach, FL.

The Girl Scout® poster was official from 2000-2004, but has been discontinued. Only 5000 of them were printed, and 400 were damaged during the hurricanes of 2004 (water got in my studio). A great collectible!

There are now cards of Girl Scout Landmarks available. These are in a 5x7 inch size suitable for matting and framing as well as sending. Girl Scout Landmark cards

As duely promised to my son and our former Explorer Post Committee chairperson, Kathy; as well as several others who have seen the GSUSA poster; I have also done a "Scouting Memories" a Boy Scout poster.

IT'S NOW AVAILABLE! It is NOT official.

I would like to acknowledge the extensive research found in the wonderful dating guide for Girl Scout collectors of uniforms from our first 75 years. Much of the info you find on this site is from the book "Girl Scout Collector's Guide"; as well as contributions from past catalogs, other collectors and former & present Girl Scouts themselves who've contributed memories.
