The poster (which is 24") is created from a 29" round watercolor on illustration board. It took approximately 5 weeks of painting, and another 5 weeks of computer time.. I have held many positions in Boy Scouts from Den Mother (I'm dating myself, it was back before PC!) to Explorer Advisor. I primarily used items from my collection; handbooks and catalogs for reference; and help from other enthusiasts online.

The center stars are Lord Baden-Powell and William Boyce, the central image is composed of pins and badges from Scouts around the world.
The middle is a kaliedescope of images of Scouts in historic and current uniforms doing several activities, as well as some Scouting memorabilia and insignias. These include nods to a few Scouting pioneers such as Dan Beard, Ernest Thompson Seton; a salute to Norman Rockwell; and two panels devoted to a couple of good Scouters who have passed away.
The outer perimeter is composed of merit badges starting in the lower left side of the base and cronologically proceeding up and around.

As with the Girl Scout poster, I will use the fact that collectors like theirs autographed to raise money for local Boy Scout groups. I have charged $5 per signature with ALL of it going to the girls, currently over $1500 with around $350 staying with Vero Beach Girl Scouts...now it's time to see what I can raise for the guys!

Currently there are Only 2500 of these printed,

It is now in a 24" poster for sale.

PLEASE NOTE: These are NOT official. I have contacted BSA, and they do not license out things as GSUSA does. Official or not, I keep my books the same way as I do for the other poster, and will send the same portion from each to BSA as I do to GSUSA.

10/01/03: I had now sent 2 "quarterly 'donations'" to BSA and raised $20 for our local Scout Show.

Posters were also available at:
Mount Baker Council, Everett, WA
and as an OA fundraiser at: Old Colony Council, Canton, MA
